A wonderful cooking event!
After about an hour in the train in Tokyo we met with Mari Tan, who was waiting for us at the station. We drove up to her house, where we would cook together. She had planned to teach us how to make sushi. That was quite an experience, because we never had done that. But with Mari’s help and directions we managed to make a omelette Japanese style. With four more ingredients the sushi could be made. Luckily Mari had made a few dishes more so after about an hour we could taste what we made together and what Mari had made: lovely thin sliced vegetables freshly fried, a very delicious porc meat plate simmered in 3 sorts of vinegar and soy sauce. Thank you, Mari, for the recipes! We enjoyed a wonderful evening with a very kind and scilled host. We can absolutely recommend this cooking course with Mari Tan, because you learn how to prepare a typical Japanese dish at Mari’s house and with Mari herself. It made our journey more interesting and enjoyable.
